Holding a Rhode Island Red.
Brooder set up. Right now there are pine shavings underneath the paper towels. We will remove the paper towels once they figure out that food is food and pine shavings are not. You can see the water feeder and the food trough, and of course the heat lamp. The cardboard is to block any drafts that might make it too cold for them.
Chicks in the feeder....pretty soon we will put a little cover over it so they can't do this ;)
The little black and white one up front is a Barred Rock.
Peeking into the brooder.
Isabel holding Little Peeper.
Ian's first look inside the brooder at the chicks the next morning.
His view of a chick that fell asleep standing up, beak down!
He wanted to hold a chick right away!
Little Peeper's bathroom brooder.
